Coastal Hampshire offers a wide array excellent sailing and water sports opportunities. Our guide will tell you all you need to know!
If you’re moving to coastal Hampshire with the aim of spending more time on the water, you’re in luck, there are an abundance of excellent sailing clubs and water sports facilities along our coastline. Beginners to the sport need not fear, there are excellent entry level courses and hire facilities in many of the clubs. Sports such as paddleboarding which have become more popular in the last few years are very accessible to all, with locations such as the River Hamble perfect as a sheltered location to learn.
Families with children will also benefit from the early tuition offered by sailing clubs such as Warsash with their Youth sailing programme, offering fortnightly sailing sessions and a week of fun on the water in the summer. If you don’t want the commitment of club membership, there are plenty of other great options. The Andrew Simpson Water sports centre in Portsmouth, for example, offers ad hoc tuition along with RYA courses.
We’ve put together a guide to some of the sailing clubs and water sports centres in our area, containing all the information you’ll need to get started!
Our team are all locally based and have varying interests in being on the water so would be happy to discuss any of the above with you. In fact, our Director Paul has been a member of Warsash Sailing Club for many years, in the past enjoying racing and currently cruising. Please pop in or call either of our offices (01489 581452/02380 408200) to speak to one of the team.
