There is still a chance to save up to £15k on your house purchase!
We might not be flying off to warmer climes this winter. However, there is one holiday to be had that will save you a considerable amount of money! There was much excitement when the Chancellor announced the stamp duty holiday last July, running until 31st March this year, meaning that buyers pay ZERO stamp duty on the first £500k of the property price, saving home buyers up to £15k on the first £500k of a house purchase price.
With 12 weeks until the deadline of the 31st March, completion is still feasible!
That £15k saving could help to snare you the forever home you’ve been reaching for. Even for
properties priced at over £500k, there is a significant saving, for example, a property priced at £700k
will cost £10k in stamp duty currently, as opposed to £25k from April. If that ‘project’ home was just
out of reach, the savings could make it more feasible, leaving money for improvements such as new
windows, bathrooms or a kitchen.
